I’ve been learning Irish Crochet and working on some ideas for crochet jewelry. I decided I wanted to try hand-dyeing my creations, so I picked up some Jacquard Textile-Color Exciter paints to see what I could do. I pulled out a bunch of my practice pieces, which were crocheted with Aunt Lydia’s size 20 crochet thread, and got to work.

I wanted to try a variety of ways to apply the paint – full strength vs. watered down, and on dry and damp items.

Once I got the feel for it, I started work on the large flower piece. I may turn this into a pendant.
