This weekend I’m at the Coconino Lapidary Gem and Mineral Show in Flagstaff on the corner of 89 and Silver Saddle Road. It was a hot day, and exciting to be attending my first show in almost twenty years. The show features a nice mix of artists, lapidarists, and gem and mineral folks. The club is running a raffle, and has the kids running around “rock hounding” samples from various vendors. I’m the petrified wood stop.

Late in the day on Friday, Avalon Pacifica Trading Company moved into the booth next to mine. He has a large selection of absolutely gorgeous mineral samples. We has a nice chat while he set up. I’m looking forward to being his neighbor for the next couple days. I love making new friends!
